Travel In The USA - Microsoft Campus

Microsoft Campus is a set of complexes covered by the forest in Redmond,WA. The competition Windows Embedded Student Challenge(WESC)was held in the The Microsoft Conference Center From July 22-24. I dare say Microsoft Campus is cool. I'd love it!

Travel In The USA - Arrival

July 21,2006, After half a year's hard work, we, four students from Nanjing University in China were admitted to take part in the global finals of Microsoft Windows Embedded Student Challenge and IEEE Computer Society International Design Competition. We had prepared for this moment for a long time though we hadn't expected it.
The following series of photos were taken during our stay in the U.S.

We started our journey from Shanghai to the first destination Seattle with a stop in San Francisco.

My views on the Alias acquisition by Autodesk

Now 3dsmax and Maya are under the same brand. It shocked the industry and people were worried about the future of Maya. Some guys asked me whether they should thansfer to learning 3dsmax from then on.

Don’t worry.I think there is no need for current Maya users to learn 3dsmax. It base on several reasons:first,Maya is able to operate on several operating systems(Linux,Mac OS X,Windows),while 3dsmax is a windows box. Obviously Autodesk will not be willing to share the market with Avid and Side Effect on Linux And Mac OS X which is currently in the production pipeline for the film industry. But the migration from Windows to other platform is difficult for 3dsmax. So 3dsmax couldn’t take the place of Maya especially on the film industry. Secondly, even if 3dsmax and Maya will integrate into one package. Maya users can still harness their knowledge. After all, things is changing and you need to gain the new knowledge all the time.

Who Am I ?

Hi, those whoever come to the blog may wonder who this guy is and why he is here. Currently I'm a student of Nanjing University in China with the major Computer Science. In the last half year, I was taking my internship in Sun Microsystems. My final decision to stay here after my graduation came out yesterday. Sun is recovering recently after the internet depression six years ago. I do hope I -- a tech-guy can enjoy the life here.
I start the blog for sharing my experience and discuss the hot spots in the technology related fields in the global scope. For sure, the contents here will be English only.
